Generous plumber repairs boilers of elderly and disabled for free.
James Anderson was recently helped by newspaper, ‘The Sun’, when they wanted they reward him for all his hard work as a plumber helping the community.
The father of six had been helping those in need who couldn’t afford to pay for their boiler repairs. In just over a year, James had provided heating and hot water to 97 vulnerable people in his home county Lancashire. He would not charge his customers a thing if they were elderly or in poor health.
Working most weekends and having 13 hour days, James would spend the rest of his free time taking care of his disabled wife Barbara and their children, who range in age from 23 to 10.
James set up a social enterprise ‘Depher’, which stands for ‘Disabled and Elderly Plumbing and Heating Emergency Repair’ – a service he was compelled to set up after a call out to an elderly man left him angry that his client had been ripped off by a company prior to his call out. A job the elderly man was quoted at £5,000 was in fact less than £100.
The Sun treated James to his life’s dream of driving a 3.0 Ford Capri Mk280, which he’d dreamt of driving since he was a kid.
