A builder turns hero after saving a mum of two from a burning car.
Accidentally pouring fuel into the inside of her smart car, Julie Nicklin set her car alight when she turned the ignition. Trapped in the car, Julie had no way to escape.
Father of four, Brian Turner – a builder in the local area – had heard the loud bang and raced across the forecourt to pull Julie to safety as the car was engulfed in flames.
Brian who has suffered from burns to his hands, arms and legs due to incident says “I ran to the car and pulled her out and then we just ran,” he said. “We had literally seconds to get away. We were running up the hill to the main road and the flames were running down the road between my legs.”
Luckily Julie was unharmed, with only clothes and glasses scorched. “Everyone else had run away and I couldn’t get out of the car – he saved my life. I couldn’t get out because I had parked so close to the pump. “The car is completely destroyed and and all my clothes were burned – apart from my jacket which was an expensive one. “It’s a miracle and I will always be indebted to that man.”
Well done Brian!
