Supply chains

The lack of HGV drivers has led to a delay in goods and services being delivered, and in turn has seen the price of materials and labour skyrocket.

Add to this an increase in sub-contractor rates, and it’s understandable that clients are more cautious about hiring and taking on new contracts.

When lockdown ended this summer, the trade and construction industry witnessed a huge bounce back. Client’s who had waited months, if not years, to have work completed were eager to start projects. And in most cases this is still the case. There is plenty of work out there, but supplies are running thin.

In September material shortages were seen across the sector. Over 60% of supply chain managers said their deliveries were taking longer and 78% were paying more for their goods.
