Handyman Helps Homeless Man Turn His Life Around

A homeless man has turned his life around and become a handyman after receiving a little help.

Steve Fawcett, who had found himself homeless after witnessing a crime in home town and fleeing with his possessions, arrived in Windsor with nothing to his name. It was when he met Matthew – a 23-year-old who offers free haircuts to the homeless – that his life turned around.

Matthew was able to get him a job at a local pub through some friends, also offering Steve a free haircut and some new clothes. Steve, who has qualifications in bricklaying, painting and decorating, was first initially offered three days’ work – however, the owners were so pleased with the work, they offered the handyman a place to stay above the pub.

Steve said: “People say anything is possible but you’ve got to persevere. I’m very grateful and I’ve got so much to thank this guy [Matthew] for.”
