It is an unfortunate fact of life that no matter how careful you are, the unexpected can still happen. Your tools and equipment could be damaged or stolen. Personal accident & sickness insurance

If you are unable to work because you’re injured or ill, you’re unable to earn, and unlike conventional employees, as a self-employed curtain cleaner, you won’t get sick pay. Personal accident & sickness insurance fills this gap.

The insurance pays a weekly benefit while you are unable to work, which means that you don’t have to worry about being able to pay your bills. It also pays a lump sum if you will never be able to return to your curtain cleaning business due to permanent disability.

Legal expenses insurance

There are a number of reasons legal action could be taken against you. An employee could be taking you to an employment tribunal because they feel that they have been unfairly dismissed. A customer could be taking you to court because they feel that the service you delivered was inadequate. You could be facing a tax/VAT inspection.

Motor insurance

If you are using a vehicle anywhere that the public can access, you’re legally required to have motor insurance. If you’re using your private car to travel to and from clients, it’s important to check that your motor insurance covers business use because some motor insurance policies exclude that cover.
